After writing 3 non-stop blog posts on presentations, here is an funny one.

Apparently, some folks at Bain & Company put together a presentation and recommendation on how to get the most out of Thanksgiving here. You can find the 12 page pdf at a half dozen places on the web, all pretty much “saved” from 2005.

So geeky and funny.  They surveyed 280 people to find out what stresses them out, and what they would consider success. They identified 5 ways to simplify Thanksgiving, while also saving 65% of the cost. Oh, and they use tons of consulting jargon – of course.  Enjoy it here.

There are 5 pages of recommendations – funny, and actually useful – which include tons of industry jargon and over-analysis.  Awesome:

  • Core competencies
  • Factor analysis
  • Outsourcing
  • Program management
  • Leadership and motivation
  • Roles and responsibilities, delegation
  • Segmentation of audience
  • Workflow and bottleneck reduction
  • Reduction of product complexity deferment

Love how they make sure to have a “savings” slide with cost reduction. Glad it ends with food and recipes too. Have a great Thanksgiving. Lots to be thankful about.
